Do you have the names of Sarah's parents and siblings?

If her father was Obadiah, the Powell family originated in Bethpage, Long Island NY via Thomas Powell. I think your Sarah was a sister of my Frost Powell.

Moses moved his family to the Dutchess/Westchester Co area in the early 1700s; his son Obadiah, and grandson Frost POWELL are my lines. Obadiah and Frost settled in Stillwater, Saratoga Co., NY and later Frost was in Steuben Co., NY for a time.

I am not researching in order to join a hereditary society but there is a lot of niformation on Ancestry if you are a member, but I don't know about the resources or if they are reliable but they would give you places to check in order to verify.
