This is just a thought - no proof - but something to think about as I have heard of it being done before.

Eva is not listed as living with John and Emma in 1900 but the census does say they have been married 2 years (about 1898) and have 1 child with 1 living.

Eva and Lorrene are living with them in 1910 and John and Emma say that they have been married 12 years (John's 1st and Emma's 2nd) and that they have 2 children with 2 living.

Emma's parents are George and Ella Crane.
In 1900 George and Ella have a daughter listed as Cecil B. age 2 born August 1897.
I remember Eva's obit being very hard to read but I believe it also looked like her month of birth started with an A.

MAYBE just maybe George and Ella were raising Eva with the name of Cecil B.
