Robert Douglass (Henry R. Douglas) was born in 1845 in Canada according to the 1850 census. All other findings show he was born in New York. At this census the family lived in Colton, St. Lawrence Co., NY. His Parents were John (B:1794) & Sophronia (B:1807)Douglass. He shows up again on the 1860 census at the age of 15 yrs. He resided in Pierrepont, Saint Lawrence Co., NY. Pvt.Robert Douglass enlisted in CO C., 92ND NY INF 17-OCT-1861. During General McClellan's Peninsula Campaign he received a disability discharge and mustered out 17-APR-1862. In later life he went to Alaska to seek his fortune and is listed on the 1910 census residing in Cape Nome, Division 4, Alaska. Henry R Douglas is buried in the Sitka National Cemetery in Alaska.
