There is an obit for an Emily Douglas Bradley who died Jan. 15, 1907 in the Potsdam Courier Freedom newspaper. It names a survivor as brother Robert Douglas of Nome, Alaska. It also names a sister, Mrs. Jane Phen of Waupaca, WI & a daughter Mrs. Ernest Kirk. This obit says Emily was born in 1834 or 1839 (the print is not clear) in Canada & her mother died when she was 12. A WorldConnect database has Jane Douglas b. 1841 in Canada who married Elihu Phen & died in Wapauca, WI. Her parents are given as John Douglas & Amanda Charter. I think probably the Sophronia listed with John Douglas on the 1850 census was his 2nd wife & Amanda Charter was the mother of Robert & the two girls. The WC database is here:
