Thanks, I am very well aware of Robert A. Widenmann's (my great-grandfather's) involvement in the Lincoln County War and the whole Billy The Kid ordeal. Numerous books have been written on the topic, including some by British author Frederick Nolan; he and my father, Robert J. Widenmann, exchanged a lot of information over the years. Robert A. later moved to Haverstraw, NY, where he got involved in politics (he appears in numerous articles in the NY Times from the 1890s to the 1920s, which are available in the NY Times online archives (I think they charge a fee); he also wrote an article published in said paper where he voiced his concern about the diminishing fish populations).
