Sorry, I haven't been at this location for a while. I live in Seattle, but my mother is in Arkansas and her brothers in Florida. Her last brother in NYC died in September, 2014, and he always spoke about the positive impact that Lakeside had on his life. He loved the countryside and sports and felt that he turned out well due to the care he received there. My mother, on the other hand, must have had a bad experience there that she won't talk about, but she hated it there. She spoke much about being beaten and punished while there by houseparents. Don't understand how they both had such different experiences, and will probably never find out since my mom had a stroke a couple of years ago and has limited speech now.
