I hope we can make a connection. There are not many Clement Newtons around Cheshire in the early 1800s. Clement born 1826 in Congleton Cheshire was my great-grandfather's brother. It looks like that Clement could also be your Clement, especially as your ancestor William Newton had his first 4 children were born in Richmond County NY.

I can't find a marriage in England of Clement Newton to Mary Nattrass. Do you know any more about that?

Also do you have a copy of the birth certificate of William Newton born in December 1846 in Hanover Square England? Coincidentally, in 1851 my great-grandfather, George Newton, was a 19 year-old living at St George Hanover Square.
