Still searching for the birth parents of Jeremiah PAYNE b.1812 in Long Island,NY. Jeremiah married Lititha(Orr) in 1833 in Greene Co. IL. Nothing on the marriage record of who his parents were. His birth date & birth place is mentioned in several county histories ...Rock Island Co. IL., Henry Co. IL & Scott County Iowa. No mention of parents or siblings. He lived most of his life in Scott Co. IA & Rock Island Co. IL.He had 3 sons that were in the Civil War.. none of their pension files mention any birth or baptism records. 1 son Jeremiah Jr... served in Illinois & Iowa. 1 son ,William PAYNE was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives and Senate soon after the Civil War & served several terms. The Illinois Blue book has a nice article about William PAYNE, which mentions Jeremiah & his birth of 1812 in Long Island,NY. Any help or advise out there where to look next???? Thanks in advance.
