Are ya'll still out there?
I realize it's eight(!) years later, but I'm really hoping that someone with Rogers family knowledge will read this. *sigh*
I've been going around and around the resources, and ancestry.com. I cannot make sense of the lineages I have come across, and there are some things that simply do not add up.
SO! Here's my issue: the Rogers line...let's start with Amos (1758-1818), served in the American Revolution, married Betsy Ferris (1762-1843). Amos' father, who ALSO served in the American Revolution (unusual, but I suppose it could happen), is listed by most sources, as Richard Rogers (1744-1819). Does anyone see a problem with this? That means that Richard Rogers was 14 when his wife Elizabeth Warren (1745-1820) gave birth to Amos...which means Elizabeth was 13. While not impossible, I think this was highly improbable.
I need some illumination here; a brilliant insight; a logical explanation.
So...is anyone still reading these threads?
