The Levi Davis I am seeking was the son of William C. and Laura (Gerry) Davis. Other known children in the Davis family were:

George (poss. Geoorg) W. Davis b. 10-7-1838 Orleans Co., NY
Nancy Rosalie Davis b. 3-6-1842 Tompkins, Jackson Co., MI.
Ira (Wm. or W.A.) b. 1849 Tompkins, Jackson Co., MI.

Levi was a veteran of the Civil War, serving from the state of Kansas. He was married to Nancy Fuller circa 1865 in Jefferson Co., Kansas.

After the death of his father, his mother remarried to Jacob Friant and the Friant's relocated to Nevada County, California. Levi and his brother Ira also moved from Jefferson Co., Kansas to Nevada County, CA.

It appears that Levi Davis had lived in Oskaloosa prior to coming to California. Levi is known to have later married Jane Claron in Nevada County, CA on January 10, 1889.
