Georgia, Thank you for trying. I'm hoping to find the parents of Oliver and Elizabeth. Their son William is my great grandfather. His full name is William Rump Miller. He moved to Michigan from Bath, NY, probably in the late 1850s.
I have often wondered if "Belknap" was another family name -- perhaps Oliver's mother's maiden name.
Anyway...this is my brick wall. Unfortunately, the censuses for that time period don't list every name in the household. There is a Rump family with a daughter in the right age-range to be Elizabeth but that is as far as I've gotten with these two people.
You mention your "Newburgh book". Is that a history of Newburgh?
