Hello everyone,

I'm trying to find the connection between the Shay family in New York State and the Edsall family. I have traced the Shays back to Philip and Hannah (b in the later 1700s and buried in Waddington, NY).
I'm trying to trace Philip's family further. There seems to be a link between the Shays/Edsalls and am wondering if Philip's mother was part of the Edsall clan as Philip and Hannah named one of their children Edsall.
There were a few of you out there at one time thinking that Philip's wife Hannah was an Edsall. She appears to be a Woodworth from the Dyer Woodworth family.
Any info on the Edsall family of St. Lawrence County NY would be greatly appreciated.
