To Chuck Ford -
Hi Chuck, Thanks for responding to my post.
In answer to your question about where I found the information on my Parmelia/Permelia Toms marrying a Stebbins in Wheatland, New York in 1835........on the RootsWeb - Monroe County, New York GenWeb site there is an online database with the history of the Belcoda Baptist Church of Wheatland.
Go to:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~nymonroe/vr/belcoda.htmYou will then be at the Belcoda Baptist Church History site -
You will find under Marriages - where it says that on " Oct 31, 1835 - Permelia Toms became Permelia Stebbins."
Permelia Toms was the youngest daughter of my gr gr gr grandparents John and Sarah Toms, who lived in Wheatland from 1817 to John's death on Oct 26, 1834 (John is buried in the Belcoda Cemetery).
I am trying to find out what happened to Sarah Toms, wife of John and the mother of Permelia Toms, after Permelia's marriage at the Belcoda Church in 1835. Since the Church info does not give me a first name of the Stebbins Permelia married, so that I can look for Sarah possibly living with Permelia, I was hoping you would maybe have some idea of what Stebbins married a Toms in Wheatland in 1835.
I knew it was a longshot when I posted to you but I never say never - until I have to. Tell me what you know, if anything, about the Stebbins who lived in Wheatland, NY and where they went after they left there. If I can just get a bit of background on them - I may be able to find something to go on in my hunt for Permelia and mother Sarah.
Thanks much.
