My great grandfather is John Carl Rohring b 1869 in Germany, d 29 Sep 1953 in North East, Pennsylvania, USA. From his obituary, I know that he had a brother named William C. Rohring that was living in Wilson, NY in 1953. Using ancestry.ca, I have found William, his wife and children. The 1900 US census gives William’s immigration year as 1885 and John’s immigration year as 1888. Thus far, though, I have been unable to find the names of their parents or solid indication of either of their ship journeys from Germany to the US.

There are a number of other trees on ancestry.ca that show William C. Rohring as Wilhelm Carl Johann Rohring, parents Carl Johann Ludwig Rohring b 17 Apr 1834 in Grammentin, Kreis Demmin, Pommern, Germany and Wilhelmine Sophia Caroline Henriette Lange b 14 Feb 1835 in Sommersdorf, Kreis Demmin, Pommern, Germany BUT none of these trees show my great grandfather John Carl as one of the Rohring siblings.

Anyone out there have info that would connect John and William?
