How would I go about finding a marriage record in Lockport in the 1840 time frame? Looking for marriage record of Michael Fihelly/Feeley b. December 24, 1818 in Ireland. Married Bridgett Byrns/Burns b. abt.1823 in Ireland. Michael and Bridgett's first child - John, was born 1843/44 in Canada West. I found the family in the St. Marys and Stratford area of Canada in the 1848, 1851 and 1861 Canadian Census. In the Canadian Census for 1848, the name was spelled FEEHILY, 1851 name spelled FIEHELY, 1861 name spelled FIHELLY. In the 1925 Iowa Census, one of Michael and Bridgett's daughters - Rose Anna, states her parents were married in Lockport, NY. I assume that they were married in 1842/43, before the birth of their 1st child. They were Catholic. Any info on Catholic Church records from the 1840 time frame would be helpful. Thanks.
