I'm trying to find where 3 people are buried (mother died 1855 & 2 grown children died in 1870 and 1875). There are no death certificates for any of them, but I have their date of death from family bible. I've written to 5 cemeteries (Canarsie, Evergreen, NY Bay, Calvery, Cypress Hills). Cypress Hills and Evergreen wrote back quickly and said not there. I wrote to the other 3 again and BayView responded not there. How do I get Canarsie and Calvery to respond? My first letter went out in April 2004, second letter beginning of November. Are there other cemeteries out there that would have been open in 1855 that a NYC resident would be buried at?
