This map might help - it's my bible! If you know the address then have a nose around for the local churches as they are shown in great detail with their names and sometimes denomination at that time (1853). Some will have changed - e.g. Rutgers Presbyterian became St Teresa's (Catholic) on the corner of Henry and Rutgers but you can use the info as a starting point, do a bit of digging and at least narrow it down for what churches to try first. When I used this approach about 15 years ago, I had two family addresses, tried about 10 churches and came up trumps with the marriage I was looking for at St Teresa's.
