I found my John Schneider in both 1st and 2nd enumerations. He's on W. 57th in the second, several pages from the "Black Rocks" pages; hoping it would give a clue as to why he was there as it's the only time I've found him on the west side of Manhattan. Just wanted more reason to believe he's "mine". The address in the 1870 census matches nothing in city directories from that time frame.
