I am planning a first-time trip to the records room at the City Clerk's Office. Has anyone else been there before? What should I expect, meaning...can I access records as one does at the Municipal Archives or do I need to come equipped with exact dates, fill out a form, and wait for someone else to find it? Assuming the latter to be true, about how long should I expect this to take? I am looking for a marriage that took place between March 14 and July 7, 1938.
