I am looking for anyone with information on the family of Henry Wichelns, born abt 1836 in Germany, died abt 1883 in New York. I've also seen the last name spelled Wichelus and Wichlens. Henry was married to Anna Meyers and had Ann, John Henry, Emma, and William. When Anna died in 1870 he married Gesene. I do not know her maiden name. I know that Henry was a confectioner and may have owned a candy store at 361 Hudson Ave in NYC.

1880 census Henry and 2nd wife gesene children Henry, Emma William and Henreitta 3yrs(with 2nd wife). 1900 Henry born April 1864 wife Mary 2 children and his brother William b. Feb 1866. Living in Hoboken NJ Henry worked in grain house and William is a confectioner and single. 1920 Hoboken NJ Henry 56 yrs wife Mamie 52 yrs 3 children Harriet Walter and Virginia ages 26, 22 and 16. Works for grain co. hope this helps.

There is a Henrietta Wichelns who was married in Manhattan on April 21, 1897, Certificate # 6172, to a Bernhard H. Hayunga per the NYC marriage index on http://www.germangenealogygroup.com

If she is the daughter of the second wife, Gesene, the marriage certificate of Henrietta should contain Gesene's maiden name if you are interested.
