I would appreciate an obituary look-up, or contact information for anyone who might be able to find one, for John Holt, born 18 October 1902, probably in Chicago, Illinois. His father, Herbert Holt, reportedly died during 1914 on the island of Java, Indonesia, while serving as the business manager of Herbert's brother-in-law, William Mozart Nicol ("The Great Nicola"). John was then raised in the Nicol family home in Monmouth, Illinois, until moving to New York as a young man. His mother was living with John in New York when his sister, Doris, died in 1943. John was listed as a West Hempstead resident when both his mother, Maud Nicol Holt, and his uncle, Charles Albert Nicol ("Professor Von Arx", "The Great Chalbert", "Chasan") died in Monmouth during 1958, about 6 months apart. The date of death for John is from the SSDI, and only listed month and year - August 1973. I haven't been able to narrow that down with anything I've been able to find on the Internet. Thank you!
