A "substitute" death certificate was provided us by the Amsterdam City Hall for Ireland-born James McGrady, died 1898, with no details. His wife was Margaret Dillon. Both were born in Ireland. His twin daughters were born at Guy Park Manor in 1854, where he was employed and apparently lived at that time. Daughters' married names: Fitzgibbons, O'Brien, Mitchell, Kelly, Wheener, Glacken. His only son John P. McGrady was a cop and fireman with a notorious local reputation. He died of typhoid in 1892. If any of this rings a bell, please let us know.
