NYS does have a death certificate for him, it should include what happened to the body. In the NYS death index he is listed as:
Edward Firzmorris who died 9/9/1929 in the Town of Mohawk, NYS Vital Record number 59263.
Try calling the town clerk for the town of Mohawk, Montgomery County, NY - they may have a copy on file. Alternately you can get a copy from NYS for $22. I don't know what the town of Mohawk would charge, but often localities charge less than the state.
