Both Piffard and York and in Livingston County, as is Avon where I live. My g-g-grandfather, Patrick, and hi wife Bridget came to this area from Ireland about 1850. One of their culdren was Francis, who became an engineer on the Erie RR. But I do not think this was your Francis. My Francis mrried a woman named Ellen. (I do not know the names you are mentioning but they are geographically close and there are other Lyons' groups around here. Are they all cnnected? It is possible, and perhaps even likely.
