ROSCOE CONKLING BARNES was born May 8, 1850 in Mount Morris, NY and died Feb. 8, 1915 in Chicago. IL.

He was a Major League player 1876-1881 with Chicago and Boston in the National League.

In 1876 while at Chicago he won the league batting title while hitting .404

He was an infielder playing second base and shortstop.

I am most interested in learning of his ancestors and descendants and any related genealogical material for a book I am working on the very early major league players.

I do not need any of his baseball records.
