Marriage at St Teresa’s on Henry Street in April 1873 was Catholic. I have the certificate.
I’ve no idea where the name William comes from as that name does not feature in either James or Hannah’s parentage so it's a complete mystery however James' brother also named his first child William in 1884 in Ohio and again there's no link to that name there either. Curious?
I’m unconvinced that William is a son to one of them with either another father or mother simply because Hannah’s family and the O’Neils lived on Madison Street from as early as 1860 and in the 1870 census Hannah, her father and mother were living in a boarding house at 84 Madison Street. This boarding house was owned by the O’Neils and also living there was James - in the same house! I just reckon James and Hannah knew each other from as early as 1860 and they had a child out of wedlock. I’m not ruling out the possibility that William is someone else’s child but it somehow doesn’t sit right with me given what I already know.
I have James, Hannah and young James again in 1880 but no William so I reckon he’s died and again I reckon aurina’s curiosity is just that?
Cheers folks - thanks for looking.
