I went to St Patrick's web site and they don't have any contact info for genealogical records, so I'll give them a call Monday morning and see who I need to contact.

Don't let that one bad experience deter you. I had one bad experience but also had an amazing one. I once called a nun who was the historian of a particular Dioces. I was a bit nervous due to my encounters with nuns during my Catholic upbringing. We ended up having a very nice chat about history and records and even joked a bit.
