Is it likely that the Kings County Court still has access to records from an 1899 criminal case? This is my first time dealing with a criminal case as opposed to probate records, and I'd prefer to have a case number or something to start with before I just call them up. I do know that the arraignment was at the Adams Street Court and was presided over by Judge Joseph Aspinall.
On July 5, 1899, the defendant (Mrs. Mary Foye), was charged with stealing over two thousand dollars from her "friend," Sara Hartnoll. Things only got weirder from there. It's an entertaining case; to those who enjoy old newspaper articles, you should look it up!
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
