This is the story I know--I hope to find some living relative of these people.

Annie Kelly McGowan at the age of 26, while living at 726 8th Avenue, Manhattan, NY, gave up for adoption a child by the name of Rose McGowan. Rose was born on 10-21-1904 at the City Hospital on Blackwell Island, the reason she was given up states that Annie and her husband John McGowan could not provide for the child. At the time she was given up, they had 2 other children, names unknown to us. Rose traveled to South Louisiana in 1909 on the Orphan Train and was adopted by a good family in Vacherie, LA. According to Rose's birth certificate, Annie was originally from Ireland and John it just says United States and he was a bookkeeper. The birth certificate number is 48415.

They would be my Great Great Grandparents and I would love to know more about them and their lives.
