From Brooklyn to Australia in the 1800's

Surnames: BARRATTI, BEATTIE, BARRETTI, BARRETTE, BARRATT
I'm hoping that someone will be able to help with information on how to find out more on the birth of Helen Georgina Eunice BARRATTI.

Data that I have indicate she was born in Brooklyn New York in 1849/50 and her father was Richard BARRATTI. At least that is what it says on her death certificate in 1902 in Melbourne, Australia.

She married Richard Peter BEATTIE in Ireland in 1869 (she may have then used the surname LOVE) and arrived in Austalia shortly after. Is there on-line access to the civil birth registrations for Brooklyn in this period?

I also understand that the U.S. has regular census information and one was conducted in 1850 but I don't have access to this info as my Ancestry sub. is only for the UK and Australia. Would somebody be able to check this for me? She has a set of distinctive given names so shouldn't be hard to locate. The surname could be recorded as either BARRETTI, BARRETTE or BARRATT as well.

Greatful for any assistance.
