Mrs Margaret Duffany Dies
Theresa, March 7.- The death of Mrs Margaret Duffany, 47, occurred at the Theresa hospital just a year ago and had been there treatment ever since. She was ill several months before she entered the hospital.
She was born in this section March 9, 1883. About 24 years ago she was married to Anthony Duffany of this village and not long afterward opened a restaurant in the Vock block in this village. Mr Duffany’s death took place eight years ago.
Mrs Duffany always resided here, except for a very few years that she lived at Potsdam when her sons were being educated in the schools here. It was at that time that she gave up her business here.
She is survived by three sons, Norman, Watertown; Howard, Springfield, Mass, and Clarence, Watertown; her mother, Mrs Agnes Fleming of Watertown, and five sisters, Mrs Clarence Timmerman of Antwerp, Mrs Claude Timmerman of Orleans, Mrs Harold Timmerman of Evans Mills, Mrs Virgil Parker of Watertown, and Mrs Carl Richter of Watertown.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 from the Presbyterian church in this village, Rev John Stoddard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
