Many years ago, I inherited a Roy Conklin decoy that was originally owned by my late grandfather of Burlington VT, then by my father. After reading about Mr. Conklins family and dedication to his craft, I felt compelled to write regarding my hooded merganser. I have not seen another like it in any history of Mr. Conklin.
