Miss Jane Jerome Married to James E. Houghton, City

Miss Jane Jerome, 1240 Coffeen Street, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jerome, East Hounsfield, was married to James E. Houghton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer D. Houghton, 1275 Coffeen street, at 2:30 this afternoon in the First Methodist church. Rev. Albert Abbott, pastor, performed the ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the church.

The couple was attended by Miss Madeline Hays of Brownville, and Scott Webb, Castorland. Ushers were James Jerome, brother of the bride, and Benjamin Houghton, brother of the bridegrooom.

Mrs. Houghton was gowned in white brocade satin fashioned with sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and a train. Her fingertip veil was caught to the head with orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of white roses and gardenias.

The bridesmaid wore light blue taffeta and a small matching net headpiece. Her bouquet was of red roses.

The couple will spend a few days in the Adirondack mountains and on return will reside at 1275 Coffeen street.

Mrs. Houghton attended Brownville-Glen Park High school and has been employed for the past five years at the Jefferson County Sanitorium.

Mr. Houghton was graduated from Antwerp High school and Cornell University in 1940. He assists his father in the operation of the Houghton farm.
