Thomas Grill (his descendants also use Crill) was a Hessian soldier who ended up fighting for the colonist side in the Rev War and received a Bounty land grant. He lived in Montgomery Co after the war, but moved on to Danube Twp in Herkimer Co. I'm interested in making contact with anyone working on this line, as I'm researching six different Grill /Crill lines from the Rev War era. Please e-mail me directly as well as posting here. For the record, Thomas is shown to have had eight children: Thomas Jr., (August 8, 1787-December 24, 1864) who married Catherine Roof on January 1, 1810 and is buried in North Steuben Cemetery in New York; Elizabeth (born ca 1789), who likely married Peter Rickert and were listed as having a few children; Maria (November 18, 1790-April 13, 1895) married Johannes Miller before 1812, and had at least two children, Thomas and Maria Miller; Friedrich (born ca 1792), married a Margaret or Polly before 1813, and had one or two known children; James (ca 1793-1872), married Susanna Guiwits, whose father was reportedly a soldier; Jacob (born December 31, 1794); Anna, (born February 12, 1797); and Heinrich (born December 14, 1798), married Betsy Brooks in 1818.
