Mrs. Mary Keenan Cummings, widow of John A. Cummings died this morning of the infirmities of age. Mrs. Cummings had been in declining health the past six months. Born in Co. Westmeath, Ireland in 1819, Mrs. Cummings came to this continent in the fall of 1849, landing in Quebec, Canada. She came to Batavia shortly after and was married here in 1851. All of her life since then had been spent in Batavia and she had many friends.

Mrs. Cummings is survived by three sons, John Cummings, baggagemaster at the New York Central station, James Cummings also of Batavia and Thomas Cummings of Buffalo. and six daughters: Mrs. George Ransom and Miss Teresa Cummings of Batavia, Mrs. M. F. O'Donnell and Mrs. E. P. Allen of Washington, DC., Mrs.Bridget Metcalfe of Buffalo and Mrs. Ellen Elmore of Rochester.
Funeral will be hel at St. Mary's church of which Mrs. Cummings was a member. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
