Genor/Angenor Pierre Rene VIAU mar. Esther/Estee Minna BOYER on 1 Jan 1870 in Malone, Franklin Co. NY. They had 7 children there 1870-1882, and Genor worked for the Prescott Co. When part of the company moved to Marinette WI [or to Menominee MI across the river], the Viau family did too. Their first child born there was my grandmother, Marinette Elvira VIAU, b 24 Jul 1884. 5 more VIAUs were b. WI 1888 to 1898.

Family Story: The BOYERs always moved first, then the VIAUs; from France to Canada; from St. Remi, Canada to NY; from NY to WI. Esther BOYER (18 May 1851 - 21 F 1935) was 1 of the 13 ch of Israel BOYER or BOYEA, all probably b. in Franklin or Clinton Co. NY & later moved to WI. Israel's 1st mar 1834 was to Marcelline FAILLE, and 2nd mar 1845 was to Adeline PETEL or PETELLE.

I have lots of facts on earlier Quebec generations of these families, but I'd like to fill in their 19th century NY details. Happy to exchange info.
