I do have some information on the Flanagans. James Flanagan was my gr-gr-gr-grandfather. Are you related to James? As far as I have learned, he died in Schroon some time between 1865 and 1870. A number of the Flanagan children also died during this same time period, so my theory is that some kind of illness went through the family. By 1870, the remaining family members, including James’ wife Mary, and his sons Patrick, Owen and James were living in Crown Point in the Hammondville/Ironville area. The boys all worked for the Crown Point Iron Company. I have traced these members of the family well into the twentieth century and I’d be happy to share info about them if you’re interested.
