Nancy,
The Johanne Sophis Knorr you refer to in your posting, I think was the older sister to my great grandmother, Johanne Eleanore Knorr. My great grandmother came to St. Louis at age 8 as part of a Saxon Lutheran migration. The ships manifest lists the following family group: Christian Friedrich Knorr, 38; Johanne Rosine, 36; Johanne Sophie, 10; Johanne Eleanore, 8; and Christian Friedrich, 3. I have a group of old photos from my grandmothers home and among them are some of a Pastor Sieck, and some with Obermeyer written on the backs. I always assumed they were fellow church members or friends, but it appears as if there was a marriage relationship. I can scan the photos and send them to you if you'd like. My great grandmother married Karl Frederick May. They lived in what's now called the "Old North" section of St. Louis and lived a few blocks from the Zion Lutheran Church of which they were members.
