If there was an obituary it could be in the Poughkeepsie Journal or possibly the Kingston Freeman. I don't know which community paper serves Rhinebeck, but if you contack the Taconic Press in Millbrook, NY they could tell you.
I don't think the Poughkeepsie paper has online archives until 1999, but their addy is www.pojonews.com and www.kingstonfreeman.com
