Wow! I am directly related to you through the Germonds and the Moons. My maternal grandmother's grandfather was Perry Moon. I am descended from Samuel Germond too. I might have information you don't have, and vice versa. Here's something you might find interesting: On the day of my grandmother's funeral, in 1974, her sister, Marie Gladys Bell Strickland, scooped up the family Bible immediately upon walking in the door when we returned from the service. The Bible contained a handwritten record of births, deaths and marriages for the Germond family dating all the way back to the late 1600s. I wrote to her shortly afterward, and she sent me a mimeographed copy of the records (very poor quality though). Over the years, they have disappeared. I have been trying to locate any of her family members who might have inherited the Bible after she died, but have hit a brick wall. The name Strickland is very common, and still haven't hit upon the right one. If you would like to try your hand at it, please feel free to do so. I can't remember her husband's name, or the names of her children, which doesn't help in the search. I know that she was living in the South, and probably in northern FL or GA. I would be interested in hearing from you, and would love to compare notes. If you send me your email address, I will send you an invitation to view my family tree online. It might fill in some blanks for you. Fern Manire Porras catcouch3@ymail.com
