I am not related to the Avella's. My mother worked for them before she married, my Uncle's wife worked for them until her daughter was born and my grandmother worked for them until she was in her 80's. I met one member of the family, Tony when we were both in our late teens and he was slender, darke hair and eyes, fair complected and very handsome young man and very intelligent!
I wish I could tell you more about the Poughkeepsie Family, but I would suspect that the Dutchess County Historical Society and the Adriance Library might have some information for you. I do know that they were still living in Poughkeepsie in 1960.
