Surnames: Sovrine, Sovreen, Sovereen
My greatgrandfather's mother was a Mrs. Sovereen. He was born in Upper Canada according to the 1851 Canadian census. He is living next to Anthony Sovereen 59 who was born in the United States. Other Sovereens in the area were also born in the US and were aged 41 to 72. The only area with a name which was close, Sovrine, was Dutchess Co., NY 1790 census which had a Charles, Sr., Charles Jr., & James, in Frederickstown, and James & Isaac, in Philipstown. In 1800 the same names appear in Dutchess County and additionally there was Nathaniel, Peter, William and William. After 1800 they disappear and have probably gone to Canada. Any information on these families would be appreciated.
