My graat-grandmother, Julia A. Kelley was born in Solon in 1863, to William and Ann (Madden) Kelley, who both came from Ireland. When she was 18, Julia along with her older sister Mary and younger sister, Elizabeth, left Solon for Oklahoma Territory to teach school. I am interested in learning more about her parents and the siblings who remained in Cortland County. I know Ann (and possibly some of the children) died between 1870 and 1880. William appeared in the 1880 census living with one of his sons, but I am not sure when he died. I checked with the local Catholic church for baptismal or death records but the records did not go back far enough to contain any useful information. Does anyone have suggestions for resources in Cortland County that would provide assistance in my search? I'm looking for death records or obituaries, land records, newspaper clippings or anything.
