Colleen, last post on Blunt from me:
A few folks have on their trees the parents of Henry and David Blunt as Johannes & Elisabeth Rossmann. This couple are sponsors in 1778 at St Thomas Luth. Ch., Churchtown. David Blunt was sponsor with Dorothea Blunt at St Thomas (for brother Henry) in 1784 and at Hillsdale in 1780. David later named a daughter Dorothea, so I would guess she's a sister, but not a wife since married names were almost never used in the churchbooks at this time. The name is recorded variously as Blont, Plund etc., which makes searching an unindexed database a pain. One last search of B*n? and you got lucky:
Linlithgo Reformed Church, Livingston, NY:
Baptism 19 Sep 1756 David; Johannes Bont, Elisabet Rosman; sp. David Steiver & w. Catharina Kelmarin.
Johannes Roschmann (b. 1677) was a Palatine German immigrant in 1710, a carpenter who settled at Livingston Manor and had at least 7 children according to Hank Jones' Palatine Families. He guesses without much evidence that the Elisabeth who married Johannes Bont/Blunt was the daughter of Johannes born 12 May 1714 and baptized at West Camp Luth. Ch., Ulster Co., although there are other possibilities.
There's no indication of the origin of John Blount/Johannes Blond in these records.
