On this 20th day of July eighteen hundred and thirty two personally appeared in open court before the Justices of Justice Court of the City of Hudson County and State aforesaid. William Blimby, a resident of Claverack in said county, seventy two years of age, who being duly sworn according to Law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832 that he was born in Claverack aforesaid in 1760. That in 1778 or 79 he entered the service of the United States as a substitute in the place of Peter W. Snyder, in the Company of Capt. Jacob Phillips for one month - went to Johnstown and was there discharged - Afterwards went as a substitute for his brother Henry Blimby to Schoharie one month in the company commanded by + brought to Boston + from there returned home. And this deponent further declares that he has no documentary evidence, that he relinquishes all claim to any pension except the present + that his name is not on any pension roll of the Agency of any State.

We Jacob Esselstyne + Anthony Boucher of Claverack aforesaid hereby certify, that we are well acquainted with William Blimby, who has subscribed + sworn to the above declaration + that we believe him to be seventy two years of age; that he is reputed + believed in the neighbourhood where he resides to have been a soldier of the Revolution + that we concur in that opinion. + we hereby certify that the clergyman, whose acquaintance with this office can be required, is dead.
