Looking for information on the family of Johanne Blumberg born 1760 - Holland. Wife Critje Whealer b. 1764 - Holland.
Their children Christyntje, Johannes, Lea, Michael,Catherine, Henrich, and Johann were born in Claverack - Columbia county and in Hilldale, New York between 1764 and 1798.

Michael Blumberg married Almira Whitney and/or Mary Ellsworth in 1837

Wow! Thank you so much for the information on the Blumberg's. This is great information!! I knew they were Reformed but had no other information. Do you know of any good books that would give me more information about the Dutch immigrants of Clavarack, Columbia County at that time? Did they come here for religious freedom? etc. Do you have any other ideas where I might find more information about my family?

Wondering if your Critje Whealer from the rootsweb message board is related to Kathern Whealer of NY and her son, Martin, age about 1 in the 1860s. Have photos of them and Edna Whealer of NY. Kathern was the daughter of Jane Bucklow or Buchlow or Buckleh, not sure about spelling and maiden name unknown, but born in NJ, who on 22 Oct 1847 married Henry C. Post who was living in Van Buren Twp, Wayne Co, MI at that time, but who was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and in late 1820s lived in Parma, NY, before moving to MIchigan. Henry's second wife had been Jane Demorest Hendricks, also from NJ.
