thank you for this information - could "Sawyer" have been Anglicized from "Seguin" or "Sayon?" By the way, the Bombards have a Fille du Roi on their family tree: Antoinette Eloy. She was grandmother to Marguerite Demers, who married Andre Bombardier in 1706 in Montreal.

This is the first time I have seen a variation on Sawyer and could explain why I have not had much success tracing Alexander's line.

Moses (Moyse) Bombard was my great-grandfather. His son, Clifford Albert Bombard, my grandfather, was born in 1885 and died in 1961. The Bombard family home is still in the family and can be found on Port Douglas Road in Keeseville. Moses' grandson Edward, son of his son Roy, lives in the home with his wife, Gladys.
