Would like to verify a birth record in Clinton County. I am told that birth records didn't begin until 1885 in Clinton, but perhaps someone knows something. Frances Egan was born in Plattsburgh, NY either in 1855 or 1859 (or between?). Her parents were Michael C. Egan and Eliza Ann (Miltimore) Egan. Has anyone got access to a census or some other records which could confirm Frances' birth date? Her family was said in one account to have moved to Wisconsin in 1856. We don't know how long they were in Plattsburgh. Eliza Ann was born in Ogdensburg, NY. I am also interested in finding a marriage record for Michael and Eliza. Thanks in advance for any help.
