Looking for info on Godfrey/Godfree SPRINGER (b)1769 Tiverton, RI (d) 1842 OXFORD or NORWICH, NY. Have found only an 1830 census and a probate re: his death (submitted by an Owen Phillips). Cannot find any cemetery record for him in Oxford/Norwich. Do not know why he was living in NY at this time! His wife, Phebe Wilcox, died in Tiverton in 1825. 1830 Census leads me to believe he either remarried someone older than him and moved to Chenango Cty., or he may have gone to live with an older, single sister (name unknown). Also residing in same household: a male and a female aged between 20-30. Suspect a Barton SPRINGER of Norwich in 1850 Census could have been related....possibly a son or nephew. He left a son Thomas in Tiverton and a son Godfrey in Petersburgh, NY area. Can anyone help me find why he was in Chenango Cty between 1830 and 1842? Thanx in advance!
