Searching for more information concerning Abigail (Goslee) Brooks who lived in Chemung Co., NY as late as 1840. She applied for a Widow's Pension in that year and was living with her son, Josiah Brooks, Jr.

Abigail was born in 1764 in or around Glastonbury, CT. She married Josiah Brooks (1757-1838) also of Glastonbury in 1781. He was a Revolutionary War veteran of Connecticut.

Abigail and Josiah had the following children:

I am a descendant of Jesse and Miranda (Fox) Brooks who moved to the Chemung County area around 1817 and later moved to Coldwater, Branch County, MI around 1835.

I am interested in finding the resting place of Abigail (Goslee) Brooks and/or other members of the Brooks family. I am willing to share my Brooks/Goslee information with those interested.

In your searches, have you ever come across Lawrence Lee Brooks, who died in Elmira, NY on 8 Jan 1946 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Industry, Beaver, PA. He is part of my wife's family, which I am researching. He was born in East Liverpool OH 18 Nov 1892 and married Maryette Lucile Rollin in Lorain County around 1919. He is listed in the 1920 census, but in 1930 his wife and their son were living with his father-in-law in North Ridgeville OH. I've seen his tombstone (buried with his father, mother and brother).
